A Review of

Dynamics
By J. Carlton Collins

This document addresses the cosmetic appearance of Dynamics only. To help you understand how to evaluate an accounting software product's Look & Feel, please refer to this document: http://www.accountingsoftwareadvisor.com/topics/lookfeel.htm. (We recommend that you read this document first, before proceeding below.)

Dynamics Look & Feel

The Dynamics screen shown above is used to set up an inventory item.

Likes:  The tool bar has large icons that can be easily understood. The colors are bright and good information is provided on the status bar at the top right.  Company, current date and user information is clearly visible.  Input fields are clearly indicated by their white background. Standard icons like the magnifying glass and the notepad are easily understood.  VCR buttons at the bottom left allow the user to move from item to item without leaving the screen, and sorts can be changed to be based on different fields.  The screen is crisp and clear, although the fonts could be larger.

Dislikes: The window can not be sized - it should be maximized to fill the screen. There is no icon to indicate that you are adding a new item.  We prefer tabs to buttons for complex data entry as they are easier to work with.
