ACCPAC Advantage Series Look & Feel

This document addresses the cosmetic appearance of ACCPAC Advantage only. To help you understand how to evaluate an accounting software product's Look & Feel, please refer to this document: http://www.accountingsoftwareadvisor.com/topics/lookfeel.htm. (We recommend that you read this document first, before proceeding below.)

The ACCPAC Advantage screen above is taken from the Order Entry module in 5.0.  This screen is used to enter a sales invoice.

Likes:

Clean, simple screen with clearly identified input fields and nice use of tab dialog boxes.  The lookup buttons are easily identified by the magnifying glass and additional input fields are identified by the up arrow.  A new invoice can be easily added using the new item icon found next to the “Entry” field.  The fields are crisp and aligned on the left hand side of the form, which helps the eye flow in a logical fashion. The totals area below the line item details are a nice feature.  This form can be easily navigated using keystrokes.

Buttons on the bottom of the form provide additional information while keeping the form clean.  Extra points are awarded to ACCPAC  for using a color other than grey in the highlight area of the input screen - note the golden yellow cell in the Unit Price column.

Dislikes:

There could be more information displayed on this form, current company, period of entry, user, etc. The input fields could be sized so they appear to be more even.  We miss the spiral notebook theme that we had grown fond of in previous versions of ACCPAC Advantage.  We do have to admit, however, that this version looks more crisp and grownup than previous versions.
